Region 24 is blessed with wonderfully skilled and talented women (and men) who are available to educate and coach choruses and quartets. They all share in Region 24's goals -- to be recognized for quality education and to be recognized as excellent musical performers.
Regional Faculty have been certified by the Region's Faculty Development Coordinator and Education Coordinator as qualified to teach and educate at regional educational events. They have completed a training program that includes: familiarizing themselves with the Judging Category Description Book and the Chapter Guide; completing 10 training hours; preparing and presenting lesson plans geared to different types of learners, and passing a General Knowledge Test about Sweet Adelines and Region 24. Most importantly, they continue their own self-education by regularly attending Regional educational workshops, International workshops, etc.
For a listing of the classes these Regional Faculty teach, see below under Regional Certified Faculty.
Regional Coaches range from all-around coaches to specific-focus coaches. Almost all of the certified Regional Faculty also coach. With years of experience either as directors, quartetters, faculty, etc., these women are furthering their ongoing education about barbershop singing by working with others to share their knowledge and skills.
For more information about coaches fees and emphasis, see below under Regional Coaches.
In addition, Region 24 is blessed with several International Judges and International Faculty who are available to teach, coach and advise. Marge Bailey (judge and faculty); Mindi Brizendine (judge); Cathy Conley (judge and faculty); Ardeth Fullmer (judge); Candy Johnson (faculty); Kris Pederson (faculty).
