Regional Election Process

Serving on the Regional Management Team and helping with the numerous regional committees is a privilege and an honor. Sometimes - with so much to be accomplished on the chorus level - it might seem strange to consider working on regional committees or running for a regional position. Please check out the job descriptions and think about how you can contribute by becoming a part of the regional management team.

There are eight people on the Regional Management Team. Each year, four positions are elected or appointed. Incumbent team members must reapply, if they want to continue on the team. Team members can serve a maximum of three consecutive two-year terms (6 years). Elections are held during the fall prior to filling the positions starting May 1st . Nominations and applications can be submitted throughout the year.

2008 Rose Achievement Award Recipient

Patty Severns
This year’s Rose Achievement Award was presented to Patty Severns. Patty is always going above and beyond to help whoever needs assistance when it comes to Sweet Adelines. She doesn’t just sit in the background – she attends as many workshops as possible and brings back the knowledge to share. She is always saying she has her “new voice” after a workshop and helps educate others so they continue to grow.

Being a Sweet Adeline to Patty is what she does full-time. Patty believes that all members should take part in all of the education opportunities presented them whether it be chorus, Regional or Internationally. She has been to IES several times and always comes away inspired and infused new energy and lots of great ideas! Patty is a speech therapist and is always inspired to help not only herself but others with her expertise in matching vowels. Anything Patty can do to help others is just what she strives to do with the utmost enthusiasm and love for the barbershop art form.

Patty has gone above and beyond the call of duty on many, many occasions. She has served and will continue to serve Region 24, as Regent and on the RMT, with love, passion and enthusiasm.

Patty is a leader in music, education and administration. She has a very positive approach in how she deals with every situation, always finding a way to spin it up. Patty has a very kind heart, always seeing the best in everyone and is very approachable to those needing assistance.
