Most Improved & Novice Quartet Awards

In addition to possibly placing first through fifth at Regional Competition, the Region and the Gold Country recognizes its regional quartets with two
awards: the Novice Quartet award (this comes from the Region) and the Most Improved Quartet award (this comes from Gold Country).

Most Improved Quartet Award. To be eligible, a quartet must have competed in the previous year, still be registered under the name used
the previous year, and have the largest increase in score over the previous year's score. This award is given by the Gold Country -- the Region's past
regional quartet champions who are dedicated to promoting and encouraging quartetting. Winning this award provides the privilege of performing on the Show of Champions.

Novice Quartet Award will be presented to the quartet that entered the Regional Quartet Competition for the first time and received the highest total score among eligible quartets. To be eligible, no more than two (2) members may have competed in a previous Regional or International Quartet Competition. Winning this award provides the privilege of performing on the Show of Champions.
